Anderson Park Playground, Hawthorn East
Anderson Park Playground is a hidden gem in the heart of Melbourne’s inner eastern suburb of Hawthorn, with large green open spaces, sporting fields, well-established trees, walking pathways and excellent views of the city skyline at the top of the hill.
The shaded playground is tucked next to the South Hawthorn Tennis Club and spills down the hill over three levels. Play equipment is best suited to kids of all ages, with everything from slides, spinning carousel, rope bridge, flying fox, pretend play buggy car, swings, surf board spring rockers, rock climbing tunnels, see-saw, musical chime instrument, abacus, fireman’s pole and rope climbing pyramid tower.
What makes this park so special is the panoramic views of the cbd and eastern suburbs, we have previously packed a picnic dinner and watched the sun set of Melbourne on a clear day or we hear this is the spot for families on New Years Eve for the best views of the city fireworks from the east.
