Australian National Maritime Museum

Australians are closely linked to the sea through commerce, defence, exploration, adventure, sport & play. Our oceans and waterways have influenced our development & who we are. The museum captures these themes.

The Australian National Maritime Museum hosts an exciting program for the whole family with kid’s activities held on weekdays, weekends and during the school holidays. Kids and adults can also climb aboard the vessels including a real submarine and retired warship, roam the museum’s expansive exhibition space and explore the Mini Mariners Play Space for under 5’s.

Family Fun Sundays are special action-packed Sundays held every month, featuring lively performances, film screenings, character-led tours, face-painting and more.
