Blackheath Soldiers Memorial Park Rocket Playground, Blue Mountains
Launching in 5,4,3,2,1 BLAST OFF to Blackheath Soldiers Memorial Park in the Blue Mountains, and slide out of this world on the red Rocket ship playground!
The iconic rocket shaped play structure was inspired by images of outer space in the 1960’s, and was one of the very first ever rocket ship tower slides built in Australia, which soon became a massive feature in so many playgrounds throughout the country in the 70’s and 80’s.
The playground features the towering three level rocket ready for take off, with a connecting tunnel slide down the hill back to land, surrounding play equipment includes cubby houses, bridges, tunnels, slides, swings, fire man’s pole, interactive play boards, monkey bars, flying fox, climbing walls and heritage playground with four life size metal structures that will take you back in time, such as a horse and carriage coach, buggy car, aeroplane and giant boot slide.
Blackheath Swimming Pool can also be found in the park along with picnic tables, electric BBQs, shelters, public toilets, duck pond and grassy lawns to picnic on or kick a ball.
