5, 4, 3, 2, 1 blast off to Central Gardens Rocket Ship themed playground, located in the heart of Hawthorn, Melbourne.

The highlight for kids is the huge red rocket ship pointing straight up to the sky, ready for take off! The rocket has 4 levels children can climb up with 2 slides launching off each side and rocket ship driver controls on the very top story, but we were too scared to climb the ladder that high to test out.

The other surrounding playground equipment includes a 3 horse carousel, monkey bars, 4 swings, bucket spinner and climbing play equipment.

The gardens are just beautiful to explore, well maintained with lovely mature trees and lush lawns to picnic or play on (don’t forget the football).
