Gumnut Park Adventure Playground, Donnybrook
Set amongst the treetops of river red gums, Gumnut Park Adventure Playground is a one of a kind play space located in Melbourne’s northern suburb of Donnybrook.
The playground is inspired by its natural surroundings and the Australian stories of May Gibbs’ Gumnut babies, Snugglepot & Cuddlepie, hence the name. The playgrounds design reminded us a lot of the Acorn Pod Playground in Canberra with its three giant gum nut shaped structures, with elevated rope climbing tunnels and twisting slippery slides. Other surrounding play equipment for kids includes double racer flying fox, in ground trampolines, cubby house nooks, Basketball half court and keeping with the natural surroundings a timber ninja warrior course with rope climbing challenges and obstacles.
Gumnut Park is situated in the new housing estate Olivine by Mirvac, How does the song go? Give me a home among the Gum trees.
