H.A. Smith Reserve Playground & Skate Park, Hawthorn
H.A. Smith Reserve is located in Melbourne’s inner eastern suburb of Hawthorn situated right between the Monash Freeway and leafy suburbia.
The transport themed park features a pretend play buggy car, a pedestrian bridge, rock wall climbing, swings, flying fox, bicycle spring rocker and a main play structure with a long ramp, slides and more climbing challenges for kids.
Don’t forget to bring the BMX bikes, scooters, skate boards and helmets, there’s a small skate and BMX park for beginner riders with bank to bank rollover, jumps box, ledge and quarter pipe return.
The Gardiners Creek walking and cycling trail runs through H.A. Smith Reserve, linking Boroondara with the Melbourne city, drinking fountains, sporting fields and a bike repair station are also close by, plus picnic tables and plenty of bench seating dotted around for parents to watch their children play.
