Ipswich Nature Centre, Queens Park
Follow the boardwalk as it meanders through authentic habitats of our native animals, there isn’t an abundance of them, but enough to keep curious minds exploring and questioning.
You will discover a variety of animals including wombats, wallabies, emus, quolls, snakes, and even bilbies. We were lucky the day we visited to meet a photographer in that area who knew a lot about the birds. He was kind and taught my daughter about different birds that were around us.
The open reserve is really great with elevated walkways so you can easily see into the enclosures. The kids will also love getting up close with the friendly farm animals in the barn. Feeding of animals in the barn yard area is at 11.30 am and 3.00 pm daily.
A play at the beautiful Queens Park Playground adjacent to Ipswich Nature Centre is a must before and after your visit too.
