Marshmallow Park Playground (Pelzer Park), Adelaide
South Australian families are so lucky to be spoilt with the Adelaide Parklands surrounding the city centre, and Marshmallow Park (also known as Pelzer Park or Pityarilla) is one of the best play spaces for kids located in the southern end Park Lands of Adelaide.
The nature inspired playground is named after the Holly Hock plant not the Marshmallow confectionery (sorry kids!) and features sand and water play (a spare towel is a must), timber climbing frames, balancing logs, dry rocky creek beds, plus more traditional play equipment like slippery slides, swings and climbing structures.
The park also features sealed bicycle tracks great for kids learning to ride a bike or scooter, sheltered BBQ facilities, picnic tables, free to use sports courts (tennis/basketball) and plenty of grassy areas to kick a ball or have a family picnic on.
