Melbourne Museum
Melbourne Museum is one of Australia’s biggest museums housing a permanent collection in eight galleries, including one just for children.
The new Pauline Gandel Children’s Gallery is a unique place for young children – from babies to 5 years old. The redeveloped Gallery features a dinosaur dig to excavate fossils, a discovery garden, museum objects and an immersive ‘camouflage disco’ where children can turn into spotty and stripy animals.
Children can also explore how plants, animals, minerals and humans grow or visit Australian champion racehorse Phar Lap. A visit to Melbourne Museum offers rich and often surprising insights into life in Victoria.
