Silver Sands Beach, Fleurieu Peninsula
Just an hour’s drive from Adelaide is the stunning Aldinga Beach and near by Sellicks Beach, where you can drive your car straight on to the sand.
The beach is absolutely spectacular, one of the best i have visited in the world. Pristine white sand, turquoise gulf waters and beautiful untouched cliffs in the distance. The coastline is where the Mount Lofty Ranges meets the sea.
The shore is very flat and wide, with firm sand allowing vehicles, bicycles and prams to smoothly ride along the water. Its a moderately safe beach with small waves, beach goers can enjoy many activities including swimming, walking, boogie boarding, beach cricket, sand castle building, soccer, bike riding and of course our favourite, beach combing for shells.
Please note the beach is un-patrolled by life guards, and to always watch for cars when crossing the beach to the water.
Vehicle access is permitted between the hours of 5.30am and 12 midnight. A seasonal winter closure effective from 1 May to 30 September each year restricts vehicle access on Aldinga Beach.
