Westgate Park Salt Water Lake, Port Melbourne
Westgate Park Salt Water Lake has turned into a giant pink strawberry milkshake, only its too salty to drink or even swim in.
Located under the Westgate bridge in the industrial pocket of Port Melbourne, Westgate Park offers a range of nature activities for families to do and a bunch of Instagramable family snaps.
The natural phenomenon has happened only in recent years caused by high salt, warm temperatures and sunlight, so its best to see in the late Summer, early Autumn seasons before it turns back to its normal colour.
The park also offers walking and bike riding tracks, bird wildlife, Lyn Moore’s Earth Series Sculptures, BBQ facilities, views of the Yarra River and the Melbourne city skyline.
