Wyndham Park Adventure Playground, Werribee
Its no secret Wyndham Park is the best adventure playground in Werribee, and just maybe the best in the whole of Melbourne’s west, would you agree?
What makes it so great is that is has everything for a fun free family day out and there’s something for all ages, from the under 5 toddlers right up to the tweens.
The highlight of the playground is no doubt the giant tower with connecting metal tunnel slide, other surrounding play equipment includes multiple swings for babies, regular swings and a tripod nest swing, smaller play structure, sand pit (byo buckets and spades) spring see-saw, flying fox, slides, interactive busy boards, fitness area which on our visit the kids were using as a ninja warrior course, spinning carousel, rope climbing frame, nature play elements and beginners skate park (don’t forget the helmets!).
The park is located between the banks of the picturesque Werribee River, and the Werribee line train tracks making it not the most visible play space to spot from the street. We opted to parking the car on Watton Street, Werribee and walked across the pedestrian bridge over the river, you could be more organised than i, and pack the kids bikes or scooters and ride across. The pathways are fantastic and safe for riders still learning.
Although we visited on probably the busiest day of the year (Labour Day public holiday), there was still plenty of seating and grassy lawn areas for parents to park themselves while the kids play. Sheltered picnic tables and barbecue facilities were all being used, so get down early if your planning a birthday party or celebration at Wyndham Park.
